Bags / Pouches
Urine or Drainage Bags
Urine Bags, also known as Drainage Bags, are used to collect urine from individuals who cannot urinate naturally or have difficulty controlling urination. They are typically connected to a catheter, a flexible tube inserted into the bladder, or sometimes to external catheters or urinals.
They are often used after surgeries involving the urinary tract or those that necessitate temporary catheterization.
These Urine Bags come in various sizes and types with different executions of Connectors, Bungs, Valves and Taps. You find them as leg bags for daytime use and larger bedside bags for overnight or extended periods.
Ostomy Bags or Ostomy Pouches
Other Bag or Pouches for Continence and Stoma Care, often called Ostomy Bags or Ostomy Pouches, are medical appliances designed to collect waste from a surgically created opening (Stoma) on the body. These pouches consist of a bag to hold waste and a skin barrier or wafer to attach the bag to the body. They are used to manage waste output after procedures like colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy.
Different types ane execution of Ostomy Pouches and Bags are on the market, such as Drainable Pouches, Closed Pouches or Urostomy Pouches.
In the field of Stoma Care we distinguish between One-Piece Systems, where the skin barrier and the pouch are permanently attached as a single unit, and Two-Piece Systems where the skin barrier and the pouch are separate, allowing the pouch to be detached and replaced without removing the barrier.
