Reservoir Patches
Reservoir Patches have a reservoir containing a liquid with the active ingredient (API) underneath the backing of the patch, which is isolated from the adhesive.
Placed onto the skin the active ingredient (API) is constantly released through a semipermeable membrane and through the skin into the blood vessels and thus gets into the bloodstream. In general the backing is a breathable water proof film not permeable for the API and protecting the reservoir.
